Jón Magnus Joensen

I have been drawn to painting since I was a child and in 1983 I held my first exhibition. In the years that followed, I kept on painting and drawing, inspired by the beauty unraveling all around me. I held many more exhibitions since and obtained my art education from Holbæk, Denmark.
Today, I spend plenty of my time painting. The focus of my artwork is the Faroese nature, as well as the many quaint villages and larger towns scattered around the islands. I’m particularly inspired by the bright heaven light that is a constant presence on the Faroe Islands, and you can often catch a glimpse of it in my paintings.
